The Web Application Developer Diploma program provides students with a solid foundation of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript fundamentals, jQuery, Microsoft SQL Server, C# and ASP.net. Graduates will understand the architecture and development model of Java, MVC design patterns and gain hands-on experience with client-site MVC Frameworks. In addition graduates will have an understanding of engineering fundamentals including SDLC, Waterfall, Incremental/Agile methodologies, and OOA/OOP principles and use. Graduates will have a strong knowledge of programming with SQL and Queries. Upon completion of the program the student will be able to develop websites, and web applications through the entire SDLC from conception to production with C# and ASP .Net technologies; design and develop Front-end web applications with HTML, CSS and JavaScript/JQuery; develop web applications with modern web development frameworks and libraries; develop complex SQL Query and Stored Procedure based on Microsoft SQL Server; debug and troubleshoot system problems and issues and resolve issues and write technical proposals, technical requirements and solution designs.

Admission Requirements
- An Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, or
- Students are 18 years of age or older and pass a Superintendent approved qualifying test
A web designer/developer is responsible for the design, layout and coding of a website. They are involved with how the site works and how it looks. They can also be involved with the maintenance and update of an existing site. Web developers need to have a thorough understanding of HTML and may be required to understand other programming languages, such as JavaScript or SQL, as well as have some knowledge of multimedia publishing tools. *Employment opportunities may be found in computer software development firms, information technology consulting firms, information technology units throughout the private and public sectors, or they may be self-employed.

Common Duties
- Consult with clients to develop and document Website requirements.
- Develop Website architecture and determine hardware and software requirements.
- Source, select and organize information for inclusion and design the appearance, layout and flow of the Website.
- Create and optimize content for the Website using a variety of graphics, database, animation and other software.
- Plan, design, write, modify, integrate and test Website related code.
- Conduct tests and perform security and quality controls.
